On a good note for Chrysler(Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, and Jeep) they have noticed an overall sales increase of 37%. Most notable was a very large increase in Jeep brand sales. I love Jeeps, it certainly isn't because of the technology, eco options, or practicality, but there is something about Jeeps that makes them a joy to drive. The other reason I love this news is because Fiats are going to get marketed through Chrysler dealerships and as I mentioned before, I would love to see some Fiats cross the pond.
Also in automotive news, it looks like Honda might be moving towards making a full EV vehicle. They already have a good hydrogen vehicle but they have been relatively quiet on the electric front. I would love a EV Honda because quite frankly they are one of the best car makers out there right now.
In non automotive news, scientist are one step closure to making every voyeur's dream come true. Either that or Ghost in the Shell fans. Basically they have successfully manufactured a flexible material that shows the necessary properties of bending light. Basically these materials would be able to "path" the light around an object and then have the light go in a similar path to what it would have originally taken.
Finally, I leave you with a link to a truly interesting website. www.Ecosquid.com is a website that basically will connect you to companies looking to purchase old electronics and gadgets. For example, I have a beat up mp3 player that still works but I don't use as much anymore because my phone has obsoleted it. So for my old, quite beat up mp3 player I could in theory get about $10. If you have old cellphones or any other gadgets just lying about this might mean a quick buck for you. Now I would make sure to erase personal information and anything like that however otherwise the service is simple to use and seems like it makes recycling/selling your devices much easier.
As for the cool thing to check out sterling engines. Generally these neat little devices have been considered just sort of something fun you can make, however a solar concentrator hooked up to a sterling engine actually set the world record for efficiency back in 2005. The video shows a DIY project that shows the basic idea.
And as always, keep the moment positive!
